Match Report
Armagh Blues 3 - 3 Keady Rovers
Armagh Blues Reserve played host to Keady Rovers at Sherrys Field.
The blues got of to a steady start with four or five missed chances.
On 20 mins the blues defence was caught sleeping and rovers took
full
advantage and went one up. Then five minutes later a long ball over
the top caught the blues defence out again to go two up on the blues.
This was a wake up call from the blues as they settled into the game
and
started playing some great football and creating some good chances
with Nichol and Crowe going close. The midfield of Wilson, Hutton
and Tait started to work hard and made it difficult for the keady
side, with
five mins of the first half left the got what they deserved when
tait took a quick freekick over the top to Crowe who held of the
defence to lift the ball over the rovers keeper, witch left it 2-1
to the rovers at the break.
The 2nd half started with the blues
pressing and Keady Rovers looking a bit lost. Great passing play
lead to the
blues second of the day with a string of ten passes before crowe
layed the ball to tait who hit an unstoppable shot from 25 yards
witch foung the top corner. The blues could have took the lead
with crowe bursting into the box to set up nichol who missed the
target. With
20 mins left the blues got there reward with a sweeping move down
the right between Wilson and Crowe, Crowe found himself with space
to pick out Nichol
who made no mistake this time and put the blues 3-2 up with a good
finish. The comeback was complete so the blues thought, with ten
minutes left the blues were caught switchd off and conceded a third
to bring
the game all square. At the end of the game blues manager Jeff
Hurst said it was a fair result for both teams.
Man of the match
Scott tait.
